Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. ~ Hebrews 13:8

January 12, 2018

Happy New Year! It is so hard for me to believe that it is already 2018. Time flies by so fast – especially the older I get. It is so wonderful to experience the many blessings the Lord showers upon us as the days go by. Remember to thank Him for each and every one.

It was so exciting for me to be able to check the last families off the QFE participation list during those last days of school in December. We finally reached our goal of 100% family participation in the campaign and we all appreciate you very much. This percentage of participation demonstrates the fabulous support of our school families. I am also very happy and proud to announce that we exceeded our goal. We gratefully received $112,857.65 in gifts and pledges! The wonderful members of Our Redeemer congregation provided over 72% of those gifts and pledges. This is yet another very visible demonstration of how strongly our school is supported by our congregation and we thank them for that.

It is now time to move on to the next great school and church event we are preparing for. The first weekend in March brings our school auction. The "save the date" has been in the Prowler for several weeks, and if you are a family who has been here for a while, you know how important this event is to our school. I hope you are preparing to assist with class baskets, helping the committee with various projects (invitations, decorations, set up, etc.) and most importantly, attending the event! It is lots of fun, and this years' Lone Star Night theme will make it even more fun.

Please be sure to take a look at the special information about National Lutheran Schools Week! We begin the celebration of our Lutheran School on January 21 with all students and their families attending the 8:00a.m. service at Our Redeemer. There is lots of fun and praise scheduled for the week, so be sure to look at it all carefully and put things on your calendar!
